Registration Procedures All registration is to be completed online using the ZDDA Online Payment Portal. There is a registration fee, due at the time of enrollment for each session, for all New & Returning ZDDA Students.
Monthly Tuition Policies The initial months tuition payment is due upon registration. Monthly tuition rates are based on the number of the weekly class hours for which each student is enrolled. Tuition payments will be collected using an Automatic Debit System. A valid debit or credit card must be added to each families account before the registration process is completed and a dancer is formally enrolled in class. Tuition is to be paid in full on or before the 20th of the previous month. There will be five-day grace period extended until the 25th of the month. All outstanding tuition payments will be withdrawn on the 26th day of the month using the debit or credit card on file. There will be a $35 NSF Fee added to the accounts where payment is declined. Accounts where tuition payments have not successfully been processed by the 1st day of the active month will be charged a $20 Late Fee. Subsequently, additional late fees ($20) will be added to the account on the 7th day of the active month and again on the 14th day of the active month. Students with a past due tuition balance as of the 20th day of the active month will NOT be permitted to attend class until the account has been brought current, including all past due tuition charges and associated fees. Tuition will be prorated for those students enrolling during an active month.
Studio Uniform & Required Footwear Dancers are required to be dressed in the standard ZDDA uniform for all of their classes, both in-person and virtual. The foundation of the uniform for female students is a ZDDA Studio Leotard (Studio Issued) and solid black dance shorts (solid black leggings are permitted during the colder months). Male dancers should be dressed in a ZDDA Studio Uniform Shirt solid black athletic bottoms. Dancers who are not in the proper class uniform and wearing the required footwear may not be permitted to participate in class. Some classes may require additional uniform items. Ballet Classes: Additional Attire - Weekday students are required to wear flesh-tone dance tights. Required Footwear - Flesh-tone Canvas (split-sole) ballet shoes.
Tap Classes: Required Footwear - Black tap shoes - Patent leather shoes are permitted for students 6 and younger only. All other dancers should have Leather Oxford-style tap shoes.
Jazz Classes: Required Footwear - Black slip-on jazz shoes
Hip Hop Classes: Additional Attire - Students are permitted to wear any ZD shirts (or leotards) with black or grey athletic bottoms, i.e. leggings, shorts, or sweat pants. Required Footwear - Sneakers (clean)
Attendance In order to ensure steady growth, parents should make every effort possible to have their dancer(s) present for class weekly. It is also imperative that dancers consistently arrive on time and ready to work. This will ensure that dancers are able to warm-up effectively which will prevent injury. Dancers who miss a significant amount of class or extra rehearsals may not be permitted to perform in the End-of-Year Recital. Please note that make up classes will only be offered in instances where class is cancelled by ZD Dance Academy. There will be no tuition reimbursements, prorations, or credits issued for missed classes.
Withdrawal Procedures Parents, who wish to withdraw students must do so IN WRITING, 30 days prior to departure. Parents will be responsible for all charges billed to the account during the 30 day withdrawal period, which does not begin until all classes are dropped through the ONLINE PARENT PORTAL.. All accounts must be at a zero balance at the time of departure or legal actions will be taken. Parents will be billed for all legal expenses and associated fees.
Class Cancellations In the event of in-person class cancellations due to inclement weather, another Covid-19-related shutdown, or other emergency situation, etc classes will be moved to an online platform and held virtually. There will be no refunds or credits issued for classes switched to an online format.
Yearly Recital Information Historically the yearly recital is held on the first weekend in June. The tentative date for this year's performance is June 1st & 2nd.Dancers typically perform one routine for each of their classes. Detailed information is forthcoming.
Recital Costume Information Recital Costume Fees are assessed each year based on the total number of each dancer's performances in the recital. Costume Fees are typically paid in installments. Tentative due dates are November 4th for Winter Recital and February 10th (deposit) and April 6th (balance) for the June Recital.

Studio Fundraisers Each year every family is expected to participate in at least one studio fundraiser raising a pre-determined minimum amount of sales. Families who opt not to participate or who fail to meet the minimum sales goal will be charged a $150 Fundraiser Fee. This fundraiser fee is in addition to any costume fees assessed.
Competitive Dance Program The competitive dance program here at ZDDA is comprised of the ZD Elite Competition Team (Ages 4 & Up), the ZD Elite Tap Company (Ages 8 & Up), and the ZD Elite Hip Hop Crew (Ages 7 & Up). Dancers on any of the competitive teams study extensively and train several days a week in a variety of dance styles. ZD Elite dancers compete at both the Regional and National Level. Auditions are held annually in August.
NOTE: All registration fees, acceptance deposits, choreography fees, tuition payments and costume fees are both NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
